The HAAG-STREIT OM 900 Ophthalmometer uses a classical distance-independent measuring principle which meets the three requirements of Helmholtz:
1. The size of the mire image is independent of the distance between the Ophthalmometer and the measured object.
2. The resulting measurements are independent of the distance between the Ophthalmometer and the measured object.
3. The measurements are independent of the quality of focussing and are not negatively affected by the accommodation of the user.
Up-to-date design allows measurement setting at the ocular and measurement values to be given at the press of a button:
Highly visible luminescent fixation markers, for the measurement of the central cornea radii, the sagittal radii at 20°, 25° and 30° as well as the meridional radii 30°, are integrated as standard in the instrument. The OM 900 uses both, the Javel and the Cross Mark. At the touch of a lever, switching from one to the other is possible.
The integrated software calculates and displays the following:
Central corneal astigmatismus
Sagittal radii
Meridional radii
Eccentricities
The difference between the eccentricities of sagittal radii and meridional radii in 30º
All of which can be transferred to a printer or PC (both optional extras)
User Calibration
The OM 900 can be user-specifically calibrated, thus eliminating subjective systematic measuring errors.
